This module didn't introduce new concepts, but it did reinforce the importance of being intentional about progression and access.
What I'm taking away is a reminder to audit our current offerings against the continuum (awareness, exploration, preparation, training) and ensure we're not skipping levels or offering them inconsistently. I also appreciate the emphasis on barriers. I know they exist, but I don't always address them systematically.
I plan to use the continuum as a diagnostic tool. I'll map our current WBL activities, identify gaps, and build a plan to fill them. I also want to be more strategic about offering paid or supported opportunities so students who can't afford unpaid internships aren't left out.
The Utah middle school example was a good reminder that WBL doesn't start in high school. I'll be thinking about how to better coordinate with feeder schools.
