Confused employee
How would you retain a current employee who is the best fit for your organization, but is now question their career choice?

You might not be able to retain that employee. If you have an open relationship with hat employee, however, you can open up the conversation which allows them to explore their career options. Helping them to see the pros and cons of staying in the current position vs. leaving it. You cannot make the decision for them but can help to clarify the choices. Through staff development opportunities, you might be able to help them gain some training and development which can move them closer to their ultimate career choice.
