Motivating students is a perennial issue  for teachers, especially for underprepared

or overworked students.  Learning new tricks to help students improve is always useful.  Good course of study.

Learning more about Gen Y learners is always worthwhile.  This helps us to understand that students are not intentionally ignoring us when they turn to their gadgets.  They are engaged in what they think is essential to their lives.  The problem arises when the technology gets in the way of course process and course content.

Dealing with stress is one of the more crucial and demanding issues facing teachers.  Stress affects our personal and professional lives.  How we perform in the classroom is directly related to how we deal with stress.  Taking the online course in stress management is a very good reminder of how to cope.  It's an ongoing battle, for new stressors come up unexpectedly.  It's never too soon or too late to deal more effectively with stress to improve our well-being.

This was a good refresher course for a veteran teacher.  I found that it reinforced many of my teaching practices and reminded me of the reality of students with disabilities and how to work effective with them.  It is always good to be repetitive and thorough in the process of learning.

ED 105 was a very good refresher course for a veteran teacher like myself.  Reviewing the basics of classroom delivery systems, evaluation strategies and other important course activities is always beneficial and helped me to be more reflective about my classroom practices.  I plan to use many of the ideas offered in this course to make my course more engaging and fair.

This course is a wonderful reminder that we have a general and specific tendencey in our classroom management styles and activities.  At times I saw myself as a guide, sometimes a buddy, and sometimes a controller.  But never apathetic!  I appreciate the time and effort put into making this a clear and thoughtful training opportunity.  I am more aware of myself as a teacher as a result of this course, so it was worth my time.

I found 104 to be stimulating and engaging because it focuses on students and the intricacies of the classroom setting.

I learned that there are many ways to deal with difficult situations and that the best way is to be cool and reasonable.  Often we get caught up in the heat of the moment, but it is best to not be too emotionally involved when a crisis occurs.

I can apply the learning I experienced in this course by looking more carefully at my responses to students at every level of instruction--both in and out of class.  Learning is always… >>>

I learned the value of being flexible and open to new techniques of assessing students.  By varying different methods of assessment we can better find out how and what students are learning.

I can continue to apply the Socratic method, emphasizing the "Why?" question to encourage students to examine their assumptions.

The support I need involves student activities.  I need students to engage.  This is something that all teachers need.

This course was a very good reminder that assessment is the center of the educational mission.  Assessment requires a complex relationship among students, teacher, course material, and course requirements.  We are constantly assessing throughout the course from day one.  Students are assessing us, too!

I found the sectiion on student learning styles to be a wonderful reminder of the complexity of student learning.  If we can key in on the preferred ways of learning of our students we will be much more likely to gain access into their best ways of learning.  We can learn about their learning styles sometimes… >>>

Assessment is of course a crucial part of all teaching and learning.  We are continually accessing students, formally or informally.  This course is a good reminder of the role of accessment in our professional practice.  I try to use assessment as a way to promote learning at every stage.
