It is importantant to use quantitative/quality data and several other sources to revise an online course.

Using a runric can provide feedback for both summative and formative assesments

I have learned about the importance of a dynamic syllibus. Also, it is important to monitor students progress in online discussions with the class or in small teams.

The most important thing I learned is the chuncking of information and maintaining a consistent template and data base for storage and reuse of information.

I have learned thet it is important to keep track of course updates and revisions (Develop a content repository for this management). Also, do not change requirements part way through the course.

It might be beneficial for students to work in small teams as long as you establish norms and can monitor. Also, keep responces short an simple and be mindful of how it might be viewed by the reader.

Do as much upfront planning as possible and plan on being flexible for delivery. Also, try and treat this as if you are at work. However, as a teacher the work always goes home. So are you really away from  work when online? I have cheked in over the weekend and outside of office hours with students questions. This did not always work out very well. I will plan on letting my students know about office hours and responce times in advance.

I learned that I nede to have my school technical support to be able to log into my remote site for technical issues that I might have. Also, in theory it sounds good to have students help students with technical issues, but I would rather create a link for student technical issue in the LMS. I am not really sure how to set up a filter for emails to drop into a seperate class folder. However, I found that TEAMS LMS can do this with in the LMS btter than email.

My challenges with the current situation of the COVID - 19 has been at the high school level we could not do live video. Creating and recording lessons was very challenging and time consuming. There have been to many students and teachers that do not have access to the internet or even computers. I do not feel comfortable putting anything on Utube for students to access. The biggest challenge is the special education students. By law we must give them an evaluation with the IEP and we can not enter the house to evaluate the student. The only way I… >>>

I learned that I can play a larger role in helping students with technical isues. Also, it is important to monitor or take a survey to discover a students technical comfort level.
