David, Is tutoring or additional assistance (i.e. course supplements, digital aides, etc.) available for students that are not able to "keep up" with the delivered course concepts? Tremayne Simpson

Cameron, As a suggestion, it may be a good idea to supplement this formal survey with an "open-ended" questionnaire that you can use to gain more detailed, student input. Tremayne Simpson
Cynthia , Segmenting your class to appeal to various learning styles is a great approach. What methods do you use to diversify your student assessments, in order to appeal to the various learning styles? Tremayne Simpson
Cameron, These are great methods for diversifying your instructional approach, in order to meet the learning needs of your students. In addition, collaborative assignments can give students and opportunity to work with classmates that have differing learning styles, which can present them with alternative perspectives. David, What is the primary field of choice for your students? Tremayne Simpson
Karen, Have you used the Learning Taxonomy to develop course content/student assessments, prior to taking ED109? Tremayne Simpson
Andrea, I primarily teach speech/communications courses and I encourage that presentations are assigned across the curriculum. It enables the student to practice their skills in presenting to an audience and proper usage of technology. I constantly remind students that once they enter the career world, they will be expected to know how to present themselves to an audience and be able to elaborate on their skill sets (in an interview). Richard, This is a great method for adding professional concepts to the classroom environment. Many instructors have added a category to the grading standards for "professionalism", in which a percentage of the student's grade is determined based on the professional standards of the class. Many students may initially believe that it is unreasonable, however once they are able to understand the reasoning behind the standards, they tend to find an appreciation for the applied standards. Michael, This is a great method for ensuring that your students understand the importance of learning objectives. As I mentioned earlier in the post, students need to understand the "connections" that exist between the planned course content and the objectives of the class. Constant repetition of this process, will only provide an emphasis for the students. Tremayne Simpson

Joy, An underrated key to appropriate time management is "flexability". In an active learning environment plans will always need to be altered, therefore an instructor cannot get too concerned if they are not able to cover all of the planned, daily content. Tremayne Simpson
