Janet, I know it's hard to narrow it down to three things, but you did a good job. Reliability, affordability and user-friendly make the communication more accessible and students will use it more often. Thanks for your input.
Sean, Yes, start with the positive and what was done correctly. That's great. Then the constructive criticism and specifics can help them improve. Thanks!

Sean, A good "welcome" can go a long way. I seem to do it differently each semester and always think i can do it better. But, the key is to do it. Thanks for your input.

Ricardo, Ah - good point. It's good to know what the students expect and connect those expectations to the learning outcomes. Where there is a good match there, everyone can move forward. Nice job.

Sean, I use motivational quotes as well. I hope the students read them. Ha! I like that you emphasized accessibility and organization as well. Thanks!

Desiree, You bring great experiences through from your ground course development to the online courses you'll be working with. Thanks for your input. I'm glad you are enjoying this forum and learning from others.
Rebecca, Right on. The students bring great experiences they can share in the classroom - whether F2F or online. We need to "tap" into those experiences for sure. Thanks!

Christine, Good description of a rubric. The criteria are essential elements and help students understand the expectations. Don't forget that the rubrics help the instructors as well as the students. Thanks!

Christine, Thanks for the examples for the various generations. It helps us understand them, our students, more as we continue to teach in a variety of ways. Thanks again.
Christine, So true. "Pattern" is the key word. Once you establish those expectations, communicate clearly and give them feedback in a timely manner, the pattern is set. Thanks for your input.
