Rhonda, You are right. Rubrics help the instructor be consistent in evaluating students. They also help students understand what is expected of them. Thanks!

Rhonda, I'm so glad you enjoyed this module. It's is just thought provoking to me to think about not only learning styles, but generational differences. Establishing that line of communication with all generations is important to learning. Nice job.
Rhonda, You are working tonight! Thanks for another post. Just the word "civility" may be something new to some students. Incorporating it in online discussions, email communication, group work, etc. helps them understand how important it is. You are the role model for the students. Nice job.
Rhonda, Your are right on target with your input on this forum. Students must be able to use the technology, understand how it will benefit them in the course and the instructor must use technology to engage students in a variety of ways. Many times it just takes some practice and effort. Thanks again.

Karen, Thanks for your input. Starting off with communicating the course outcomes to the students is essential. Right on! Navigation and engaging the students are key components to online learning. I like your statement: "bring the course content alive." Thanks again.

Aaron, Right on! The clear path is the key point in what you bring to this discussion board. Students need to know what is expected of them, how to get to assignments, how to communicate, etc. and this all leads back to good navigation. Thanks!
Robert, Thanks for you input. You bring up very good points. I agree that learning outcomes are very important. The students must understand what is expected of them and then the feedback should be based on the outcomes as well. Providing the rubric up front helps them understand the expectations, how they will be assessed and help the instructor be consistent with feedback. You're right the instructor sets the tone for all of this. Thanks again.
Christina, You are busy this morning too. Thanks again for your input. Open ended questions give you so muc more information from students. And, I also like peer-evaluation. I have students use the rubric to self- and peer-evaluate on about every project before they give it to me for summative evaluation. Nice job.

Tawanda, You are busy this morning. Thanks again for your input. I like your son's quote. I have had 25 year olds tell me they don't need to memorize anything because they can look up whatever. ;-) It's a learning process for us all.
Good morning Christina, You hit on three very important topics: Ease of use, availability and personalization. Students need individualized attention/communication and must be able to navigate within the class easily. Communication must occur whenever it must occur to keep the process going. Nice job.
