Ginny, I like your system of the 5Ws. When I teach my business communication course I tell the students to use the 6 Standing Soldiers which a previous colleagues used to use. They are who, what, when, why, where, and how. The 5Ws or 6 Standing Soldiers all help you think about what you're doing and how you're providing information to the students. Nice job.

Brian, That is the key. Rubrics help the students and instructor. Thanks!

Linda, These are basic guidelines about the generations that may be helpful. It's not to say that someone might not demonstrate different attibutes or a combination of attributes from different generations. However, it seems as though you are really thinking about how to connect with the students in various ways. Nice job!

Brian, I always do some type of diagnostic test/survey to see what the students know coming into the course. This helps me understand what topics I need to cover, not cover or spend more time on. Providing any assistance to students that you can is important. Thanks!
Brian, Yes. Being timely in your communication and modeling a professional, positive tone is important. Keep the communication going!
Brian, Right on! Making sure students can access the course, know where to submit assignments, how to communicate, etc. is essential. And, across platforms is even better.
Chelsea, Thanks for your input in this forum. You bring up some good points. The rubrics have to be specific enough so that students understand what is expected, but not so specific that they don't have to "think" and just "dump in" information into a report or assignment. Communication is the key. Thanks again.
Tanya, Right on! Communication is essential. Making sure the technology tools aid in communication and do not hinder communication - that's the key. Nice job.

LE, I love rubrics. They are just as helpful to the instructor as they are the students. There should be no surprises in grading for either of you. Nice job.

LE, Right on! Even within generations there are different levels of technology abilities and learning styles. It's important to provide information to students in a variety of ways. Nice job.
