LE, Keeping in mind that the instructor is the role model for all students is important. I stress professional communication in email, chats, etc. And, I agree it is OK to have some fun, but it's important to help students where to draw the line. Nice job. Keep up the great work.
LE, You bring up a very important point: FERPA. It is essential to keep student information secure. The course should also be accessible to all students and making sure the students can use the necessary technology is essential. Thank you.
Michael, Making sure students have access to the course and course content is important. Communication is also essential and making sure students know where to submit assignments and how they will be evaluated is key to their success as well.
Alfretta, Excellent. Making sure all students can access the course content and making sure the students are engage in the content is essential. Thanks for your input.
Margaret, Getting feedback in various ways is helpful. The structured interviews can be helpful and, you're right, get to the real issues, but sometimes they are difficult to set up. But, it's worth a try. Thanks!
Laura, Getting feedback from peers and students provides different viewpoints. I like to get a feel for what they think about the course so that I can improve it for the next semester. Thanks for your input.
Laura, You are right on target. For feedback to be meaningful, the instructor should provide positive feedback and constructive, specific feedback. The feedback should be timely and help the student improve. Nice job.

Laura, Knowing what the studnets know helps you determine how quickly or slowly you may go through the course material. Providing course content in a variety of ways is also helpful. And, you are right, they are not all computer literate. You can provide a troubleshooting guide or helpful hints on what to do if the technology does not seem to be working. Also a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) discussion board link can also help. Thank you for your input.

Cheryl, Keep in mind that the informatin in the module is "in general." We can't put everyone in a perfect little "generational box," but you are right - it's important to understand everyone. Thanks.
Jeanette, You are right - it is hard. A mix of different types of evaluations and feedback are appropriate for many courses. I agree. Thank you.
