Michael, Yes, it will. Students have to analyze the learning outcomes and how the rubric/project/assignments lead to the criteria in the rubric.
Discussion Comment
Camesha, Right on! We have to continually review and update everything we do. Thanks!
Alaina, You definitely have to set the rubric up with essential criteria to assess what you need to assess in relation to the learning outcomes. I rarely find a predetermined rubric that meets my needs. You can have combo rubrics. The combination of what you need can be outlined effectively in a rubric, just make sure it leads to the assessment of the learning outcomes.

Michael, I like that you help students understand where they need improvement and how your feedback on one rubric can lead to improvement on the next assignment. Nice job.
Andrew, Right on. One key word you used was "linkages." We have to connect the dots to get the students to understand the expectations/outcomes/content/etc. Thanks!
LaMonica, Excellent - I'm in IT as well. Dr. Tena B. Crews
Mitchell, You are right. Timely feedback that helps the students improve is essential. Using the rubric and providing additional comments with constructive criticism is helpful. Thanks!
Andrew, Yes, we do need that connection with the learning outcomes. Any time a students says, "Why are we doing this?" or "This is stupid." I stop and say, "Maybe I haven't explained the learning outcomes so that they are clear." Everything we do should lead back to achieving those outcomes. Thanks!
LaMonica, Improvement is the key, you are right on target We want our feedback to be taken as constructive criticism for students so that they will excel in your course and in other courses/assignments/projects/etc. Thanks!

Andrew & Frank, Ah, I see what you are saying. I include it in my syllabus and remind prior to the first posting on the discussion board.
