denise, I think the synchronous live chats help many students get their questions answered and see that others have the same questions. Sometimes it's nice to know you're not the only one with questions.
David, That's a great idea. Just as in a F2F class, many students may have the same question and it needs to be addressed to all. That's why I use the FAQ discussion board so everyone can see the questions asked most frequently and see the answers. Thanks!

David, Reminders help. They have to develop the habit of "checking in" to make sure they are not missing the information they need. Thanks!
denise, "Lurking" can be a positive term in this environment. ;-) Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
denise, Posting every few days keeps the students "coming back" to the online environment. Live chats are beneficial as well. Nice job.

David, You are right. I have heard that it's not about time management any more, but it's about priority management. That's an important concept for students to understand as well.
denise, Posting something each week helps keep their attention and they realize they have to "check in" each week. Your post may help others think about doing the same thing. Thanks!

denise, It's great to put things on your calendar and actually block out that time. Ah - and you can do your grading outside. How nice.

Cynthia and William, You bring up very good points. I'm glad you can transfer what you have used in the F2F classroom to the online classroom. Nice job.

Cynthia, Rubric rock! ;-) The criteria are the kep components to the development of the rubrics. Thanks for sharing.
