Patty, Definitely. I think it stems from some of them having access in high schools. Many high school teachers use rubrics and students are used to them. I love rubrics - they help both students and instructors.
Patty, Yes, we do have to understand what the students are capable of, especially with technology, and how to best use the technology communication too. Troubleshooting should be easy and quick to apply. Thanks!
Terrence, We all have varying opinions about communication, but I think a lot of it comes from experience. Thanks for your input.

Randolph, You are on target. The technology must be available and easy to use. Everything must be connected to the learning outcomes - projects, assignments, etc. I'm assuming the time constraints you are discussing are connected to the length of the course. Thanks!

Megan, The key is that rubrics help both students and instructors. Students can better understand the expectations and instructions can assess more consistently. Thanks!

Megan, Traditional and non-traditional adult learners are different and have different expectations. Differentiated instruction is important. Thanks for adding to the conversation in this forum.
francis, Consistency is important. If you set a pattern in anything, it's good to stick with that pattern unless you find it's not working. You may want to get formative feedback from students to see if it is really working. Thanks for your input.
