Stacy, It's good to have a presence and let students know when you will be checking email and the LMS. When instructors develop that timeline for communication and interaction, it helps the students ask questions in a timely manner and the response to be timely as well. Thanks for your input.

Stacy, Nothing wrong with having a schedule. Students need structure well, but allow for some flexibility. That's a good combo. When we get more busy in our lives, the structure becomes more important it seems. Let students know your schedule so they can work with it and set their schedule as well. Nice job.
Stacy, You can also put all of that information in a "Start Here" button so that students understand where to start, where to refer to if they forget, etc. The technical support aspect is essential. Some online instructors are the technical support as well and some technical support is elsewhere. The students need to understand this. Thanks for your input. Good info.

Stacy, Instructors should be able to edit the rubrics and make sure the criteria and points are matching what you want it to measure. Rubrics do help students and instructors both during the evaluation process. Thanks!

Stacy, Have you tried using any of the online student preparedness inventories student can take to help them understand that whey need to "beef up" if they don't have the skill? They can be helpful and may help alleviate some frustration on the part of the instructor. Thanks!
Stacy, Timeliness is important and we need to communicate with students when we will be checking email and the LMS or whatever you may use so that they don't think we are 24/7 instructors. This will help minimize anxiety as well. I also do not accept late work - I don't have time and the students need to be responsible for that timeliness themselves. Thanks for your input.
Stacy, Communication must be easy and the students must be able to use whatever tools are in place. That way, they will actually use the tools and communicate as needed. Students will be more likely to communicate and be an active part of the course. Thanks!
Mark, Totally agree that quantitative and qualitative feedback both bring "something to the game." When we get feedback from different parties, we do get information from different aspects and that is beneficial. Thanks!
Mark, Definitely we want to tie our rubrics and feedback to the learning outcomes. It is important for students to understand the expectations and what they should be able do upon completion of the course. Thanks for adding to the conversation.

Mark, The dynamic syllabus can work together with effective communication. I do love the roadmap analogy and getting the students on the right path. Thanks for your input.
