Patricia, Good article. Thanks for the link. It's important to know your audience (your students). Thanks for your input.
Gracie, You are so right. Students need to understand the course expectations, how they will be assessed and how to reach all goals. Consistency, as you say, is a key element. Nice job.
Jacqueline, Good point. It depends on the students, assignment, instructor and content. It's good to think about all of this. Thanks for brining this up.
Michael, Feedback in a variety of types helps the students improve. Peer- and self-assessment are helpful as well. Thanks for your input.
Jacqueline, Feedback must be specific, meaningful, clear, positive and constructive. It sounds like a lot to provide to students, but with the help of rubrics it can all be cone. With the constructive feedback, students should be able improve their work. Nice job.
Michael, Specific assignments tied to the learning outcomes is essential. The specifics can be provided in the syllabus and also through the rubrics. Thanks!

Jacqueline, You have several goals for this on assignment. That's great. You can learn about the students, assess their writing skills, etc. Nice job. Good idea. Thanks!

Michael, Yes, it's good to balance the readings, technology and discussions to enhance the learning process and get the content across in the best way to the students. Students do need to understand the expectations and how to reach them effectively. Thanks!

Michael, Step one is so important. Students must understand the expectations and how they will be assessed. And, you are right on target that we have to present the content in a variety of ways to hit all learning styles. Thanks for your input.
Gracie, Students' access to technology is key. I always put in my syllabus, along with an announcement, what technology students are expected to have access to. This "sets the stage" and puts the expectations up front. Thanks for bring your list to this forum.
