Edwin, Ah - the syllabus. Many times it is the first point of communication and is so important. It serves many purposes as you pointed out. Thanks!

Dr. Cecil, You have a great list of things that impact the scaffolding of learning. Thanks for bringing them all to our attention.

Laurie, Yes, these revolve around the students. Who they are, what they want to learn and what they need to achieve. Thanks!
Stephanie, I agree that we all need a break. We want to try and prevent becoming a 24-7 instructor. Making sure our students know when we will be checking email and discussion boards, etc. is essential as well. Thanks for your input.

Stephanie, It depends on what type of assignments you are grading. When I grade writing, I typically grade for one thing at a time. For example, I'll grade for format only or I'll grade for content only or spelling only. You may have to see the document more than once, but the grading goes more quickly. Also, any tests/quizzes you can automate through the LMS for automatic grading is a time saver. I also use peer-evaluation. The students are assigned a peer to grade their work using the rubric and then they can edit the information before they submit it… >>>

Stephanie, Sounds like you have learned a lot in the past year. Keep up the good work. Grading is always an issue. Keep plugging away at it.
Stephanie, Short videos work well, but accompanying text (written docs) are helpful. It's OK to keep them both to help student reach the learning outcomes. Nice job.

Traci, We do need to evaluate all rubrics after we use them and get input from the students to ensure the rubrics are measuring what they need to measure. Thanks for your input.
Sharon, We learn a lot from each other in these forums and searching the Internet for various resources. Nice job.
Traci, Great. Glad you are trying new things. We can learn a lot by researching and seeing what others do through their resources. Thanks!
