Sharon, Great description of rubrics and their parts. I typically use points instead of percentages, but it can be done either way. We all need to do what works for us.
Sharon, We do need to spend the time to craft rubrics that match the assignments. It's not really a "one size fits all" kind of thing. Thanks for your input.
Traci, Yes, the key is the rubric's criteria and making sure everyone understands the course expectation. When they get too difficult to understand they are not easy for anyone to use. Thanks for your input.

Traci, The rubrics help both students and instructors. Everyone should be on the "same page" when it comes to the expectations. Nice job.

Twyla , Understanding your audience is important in any situation, but especially when they are your students. Nice job.
Discussion Comment
amanda, Understanding the audience and analyzing how they learn and communication is as important as understanding any audience you are going to teach. Keep up the good work.
amanda, You use great words to develop a pattern of communication - consistency, prompt, timely, etc. Nice job.
Twyla , Being flexible is important while you are establishing a pattern of communication. Serve as a role model and be a good communicator. Thanks for your input.
Kim, I love getting feedback from the students. That feedback helps us make edits to the course and help students be successful. Nice job.
