Carolyn, Consistency and a good explanation of the expectations is essential. We have to set high standards for our students and help them not only understand the standards, but how to achieve the learning objectives. Thanks for your post!

Rhonda, So, is this a benefit for the students or instructor? BOTH! ;-) There are other benefits as well as they help students understand the expectations and show the connections between the assignment/project and the learning objectives. Thanks!

MeriAnn, Right on! The key, as you noted, is to make sure it provides and excellent way to evaluate and provide the feedback students need to help them learn and improve. Thanks for your input.
MeriAnn, It's all in the criteria. We have to make sure those are created effectively to serve their purpose. Thanks for your input.
MeriAnn, There is rarely a one-size-fits-all rubric that really works. It's important to take the time to make rubrics that work for your assignments, projects, etc.

MeriAnn, You are right. Understand the generations is just one part of the educational process and getting to know our students. The more we get to know them, the more comfortable they will feel and more they will reach toward the learning outcomes. Thanks!
MeriAnn, When you get to know your audience and treat them respectfully, you'll be surprised how they will perform. Thanks for your input.
