michael, You are right. Effective rubrics should help reduce questions from the students and help them meet the clear objectives that I hope are in the rubric itself. Thanks!

michael, Right on! The expectations you (through the rubric) set are essential to setting the stage for the learning environment. We have to help them strive to meet the objectives and standards, but they have to do the work. Thanks!
Henry, Thanks for bringing up the point that students are consumers, but I have heard more and more lately that the future employers are the consumer of our product, the students. Your thoughts?
Henry, Interesting that you note that assessments are "emotional events," With the rubrics I use and the involvement of self- and peer-assessment in my classes, I think the emotions are low as the expectations are high. Thanks!

Chanel, The syllabus is many times the first point of communication. Being clear, concise, yet thorough is essential. Thanks for your input.

Janet, Right on. We want to avoid the boring environment and get those students engaged. The LMS plays an important part in the ease of navigation. Thanks!
robert, I love sharing ideas with others and learning as well. Thanks for your input on these forums.

robert, Great "rules." It's wonderful that you are teaching your students good email habits. Thanks!
robert, Sounds like you have a system that works for your and your students. Others need to find a system too. This will help them. Thank you for your continued input.
