In addition to hiring faculty and orientation, there should be opportunities for ongoing learning and professional development.

Onboarding new faculty is extremely important.  Faculty should be provided the opportunity to understand expectations, LMS platform and "way of working" prior to starting.  This will not only help the faculty member get acclimated to everything but can also ensure faculty member is prepared.  Preparation, understanding, communication and engagement can lead to overall good learning experience for students. 

Faculty credentialing can vary state by state. However, there are a few basic starting points for consideration when hiring: (1) education level, (2) industry experience, and (3) certifications/licensures, to name a few. While this is a basis, some institutions have additional qualifications for consideration so its important to know when hiring faculty.
