Great way to sum it up!  I totally agree!

I totally agree.  Similar to my post regarding listening to students.

In our school, there are many personal obstacles that stkudents have.  Listening is the key here.  Not only does it enable me to dilscover what needs they may have and help to guide them to the proper place to get the necessary help, but it also fosters a better instructor-student relationship which many times encourages them to try harder and perform better, thus enabling student success.  They each have their stories and problems, that's for sure!

I said to my student,  "whether you know it or not, right now you are beginning your professional career including your professional reputation which also includes future references for your resume". Students can be motivated by the thought that externship… >>>

I am not in admissions, but I can see that a student who has interest in the field from the beginning almost always does well. Our admissions personnel does a great job in taking time with each student during the admissions process.
