LEARNED THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO "Develop multiple means for presenting information, multiple means of expression and practice of knowledge and skills, and multiple strategies for engaging learners." I PLANNED TO USE THIS METHOD

THAT IN ENSURING RICH FEEDBACK "Feedback is provided through the evaluation of student work. This evaluation is not something instructors should do "to" the students, but something they should do "for and with" their students. Feedback is essential to the learning process and should provide students with relevant information."

GOOD TO KNOW THAT "A rubric should be fair to all students. A good rubric is reliable: if two raters use the rubric to rate the same work they should assign pretty close scores; raters should be in agreement." I PLANNED TO USE THIS METHOD

I PLANNED TO REVIEW "The seven principles for learning as noted by Chickering and Ehrmann"

I learned that "Social networking sites can be utilized in online learning to develop student engagement, communication, and collaboration. Many students are familiar with social networking sites and can easily transfer their skills and adapt to the environment quickly. Using social networking sites for learning is a dynamic medium to help students share information and knowledge. Engaging students in real-time, authentic learning provides an opportunity for students to engage in real-world learning in a more participatory environment." And I planned to revisit this again

I agree when it said that " There are a variety of ways to develop participation and engagement; however, the key is to help students understand why the content is important to learn and that you care about their achievement of the learning outcomes. To justify the importance of the content, try to connect it to their lives and help them establish why it will be important for them. To show them you care about their learning, communicate effectively and compassionately."

Learned " That whether learning face-to-face or in an online environment, students have different needs. Some students may have minor cognition problems, developmental issues, or serious learning disabilities. It is very important to recognize those with learning disorders so that the instructor can more effectively deliver content and design learning activities to help all students achieve the learning outcomes."

I found it interesting that to have a well-designed course that meets its outcomes/objectives Student evaluations are an essential source of information,

Seth

That "Norm-referenced assessments should be used to compare a student's skills to skills of others within a particular group. On the other hand, "Norm-referenced assessments are most appropriate when the instructor wants to make comparisons across a large numbers of students or needs to make a decision regarding student placement and advancement."

Learned that "Summative assessment is assessment that is conducted at a particular point in time. It occurs at the conclusion of a lesson, project, unit, or course to determine what students know and what they do not know." and that "The outcome of summative assessments is a judgment of student competency at the end of the instructional phase with a grade earned."
