It is a great way to send a message to the entire class. Not only does it warn them of the repercussion issues that deal with but also the honesty and trust with the instructor must be restored.

I enjoyed this segment regarding the above topic. I am firm believer that when you set the bar on day one of class, this is a topic that must be discussed. I encourage student to ask themselves one question regarding cheating. That question is "Who are you cheating". The answer is simply themselves. I also state the importance of as they are learning the concepts and skills they will need to apply them once out in their working careers. So basically, cheating does not help them get far at all.

This was very a informational segment of the course. The importance of being prepared for class on day one is a maker or breaker. At our school we strive to make sure all instructors are prepared and ready to distribute syllabus on day one of class.
