About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Kevin, The instructor must do their due diligence to keep the students interested and excited so that they want to come back the next day. The instructor has to sell the student on returning each day. Patricia Scales

Hi LAURENT, I agree! We don't have all the answers. Some of our students have major challenges in life, and if I don't know how to help them, whenever possible, I try to refer them to someone who can help them. Patricia Scales

Hi Frank, We are giving our students what they need in order to be successfu. Patricia Scales

I have learned over the years that students are most appreciative when instructors share examples with them.  Students get an "I can-do-attitude" when they see an example.  Students can see exactly what is required of them and great clarity is added.  Students are more motivated/excited to get started on an assignment when they feel they have a FULL understanding of the requirements.  Some students need to see it, to get it!!  Let's give our students visual!!
