 I think Title 9 prohibits discrimnation based on sex in a educational activities. VAMA reports sexual violence using policies and procedures. Cleary Act reports crime Statistics on college campuses. Title 9, VAMA and Cleary Act  are important to help prevent and make everyone aware of the sexual violence in an educational setting or activity.

 Building safer campuses is extremely important and needed in all institutions. Title 9 prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational environments. VAWA develops Title 9 by reporting sexual violence via policies and procedures set by the institutions. The Clery Act gives public notice of crime Statistics on college campuses.

  Training students and faculty to make them aware and prevent harm based on discrimination is very important . The educators need to aware of these harms that can effect their students.

Instructor mistakes can be minimized by using humor, promoting a professional image, being prepared, organized and dedicated. Taking notes to assist with learning the students names also helps. I have made mistakes with students names.

 Managing student behavior is eaisly done by using  student's body language, listening. placing students in small groups and not giving them any opportunity to cheat. 

   "Inattentive" students or students that want to be the "center" of attention can make it difficult for the rest of the class. I make sure that the students know the consequences of their actions. I purposely ask questions to students that are quiet and make sure to include all students in the discussions. I am always giving real life examples of why this topic is relevant. i try to make each student own responsibilities for their actions. I think the trick with challenging students is to have control of the class by setting limits and then reinforcing them.  

  I believe "ice breakers" are needed to bring the students together. I usually tell the students about myself and then have each student tell a little about themselves. This activity allows everyone to start talking and engaging. Teamwork is important and can be achieved when everyone feels comforatble. I truly understand that expectations should be clearly defined.  A syllabus that is easy to navigate and  is appealing  certainly will assist the students in understanding the policies, goals and expectaions. This will aid in their success in the class. 

 Before teaching an adult learner a needs assessment must be done and students should be able to diagnosis their needs. Using Their knowledge, prior knowledge and critical reflection the students can be actively involved in their learning.

 A good adviser explores the student's life goals, understand policies and procedures and builds links to career services to help students achieve their goals.
