Activity

Additional time for planning and designing instruction is absolutely the norm when using new technology to mediate or deliver instruction. How exactly do you think students might feel inadequately prepared for tests in using new technology, Larry?
Could you elaborate some on that, Larry?
Of course grades must be applied, Wayne, however, if the value of the grade rests on the learning process rather than simple tasks, that is much more effective for the student.
Discussion Comment
Good comments, Larry. Yes, there is always the need for plan B when using any form of technology :) Often teachers use the smartboard as an enriched projection screen only, rather than for the interactive and collaborative functions you refer to.
Good points, Jon. How do you specifically focus on the development of time management and research skills with your students, using new technology?
Great overview, Larry. There are various software available for real time chat such as Adobe Connect or Illuminate, although most delivery platforms now also have the chat tool. It would be interesting to see how this real time connection might help your students process some of the information you provide in your lectures.
How much do you maximize this flexibility and convenience with your students? Do you incorporate online discussion and real time chat in your classes, Larry? What successes have you experienced with these tools?
Exactly, Larry. Direct communication and open access (open source, open editing etc) are fairly characteristic of the expectations of today's students. Knowing this, can you think of changes you might want to make to your current instructional design in order to accomodate this?
Yes, fairly accurate picture you've painted for us, Larry :) So, how does this make you feel as an instructor? Can you build on this reality with your students?
Good points, Larry. How specifically does blended delivery provide better opportunities for students to learn from each other? Have you had some direct experience of this?
