So then, Deborah, how might you integrate Wikis formally into your instructional design and for task scores, based on your pilot?
Exactly, Deborah. So, when assessing a process, the process should be mapped out, quantified and given a score. So, in setting up assignments, gathering this kind of information is vital for your assessment. I have often, in the past, had students submit a project proposal within which they outline their "steps to accomplish" and/or "methods to accomplish". That helps me assess their process and not just the task. Do you have any other ideas on how process might be assessed?

Good points, Pierre, and there is the benfit of the capture capability and distribution of work for further study.
So, flexibility and accessibility are key benefits, Pierre. How has this helped your students directly? Do you have some examples of using the technology with your students to provide greater felxibility?

Yes, Pierre, good points. So thinking as well as use of information can be supported, enhanced and enriched, What does this mean in terms of the challenge to instructors relative to preparation, planning and instructional design?

You make some strong points, Deborah, and I agree that expectations of communication are changing. I do think, however, that with the advent of social media there are greater possibilities for connection - too much is not necessarily a good thing as you say, however, I have lived in many countries around the world and thanks to FB, for example, I have been able to connect with many friends I would have otherwise disconnected from for good. What I am suggesting is that the technology itself can be used well for specific purposes and that is the challenge of using… >>>

I agree, Deborah, and have found the same with students. Often those students who have difficulty participating in a conventional classroom experience will have a much more effective learning experience in a dynamic environment - I also agree with your comments about student anonynimity...
The Internet does bring an immediacy to students, Ileana. It often does make the rpocess more interesting but requires a lot of intentional work and support from the teacher.
I agree, Ileana, however, I think this is always the case - all students have to learn how to think, question and apply information. I'm not sure that it is more of a problem now - this is a great challenge for instructors.

Vanessa, the blended approach would work well in your situation. I have lived through that scenario as well and using the Internet to provide instructional tools (discussion, chat, grades etc.)rather than as a delivery mechanism is usually accepted in such a context.
