Justice, I agree that in your field innovation and critical and creative thinking are more important than memorization, however, in every content area there is an amount of memorization and it is important to encourage students in that as well. Dr. Ruth Reynard

Donald, Good points! Yes, fully online tests can develop certain additional skills in students but are not always the best option for increasing actual content knowledge. Dr. Ruth Reynard

Donald, I think you make great points and I agree with you - the purpose of the course and the life situation of the student are important. As an adult student, the options for course delivery are critical given the complexity of life for the adult student. If you need your course to be totally online, then blended would be annoying. I believe, however, that, all things considered, if location is not an issue, then blended provides the best learning environment for most students. Theresa, The resources are vast as you say and students as well as instructors can benefit from that. Students can also, of course, be taken off task or follow through with resources that are not legitimate academic or professional sources - this is where the guidance and input of instructors is vital. Theresa, Yes, that is true. Students can be freer to move at their own pace without interrupting or altering the pace of others. The challenge to instructors, of course, is to keep the entire group on task and engaged through constant contact and feedback. Dr. Ruth Reynard
