Using storytelling to connect learners with their own culture or background, will help them connect with their own learning.

Stories that are interesting and full of humor can help connect the storyteller to the audience, who then releases dopamine, and that helps secure the information in their long-term memory.

Identifying intern skills in the workplace happens during an internship, and this will help them increase their skills and knowledge as they go forth in the workplace as adults.

The intern supervisor has many roles, including supporting, mentoring, leading, and evaluating the intern during their time in the workplace.

To ensure an educational experience, students should keep a diary about their time in the internship, as well as evaluations of themselves and their experience in the workplace.

Having expectations for the workplaces and the interns will insure that the internship runs smoothly and that there is minimal confusion and more success.

Internships help students build the skills that they need in the workplace, learn about different vocations, and make connections with places where they are interested in working

Students with disabilities must receive appropriate accommodations and supports to be successful in the classroom.

Literacy in all areas of life, is important. Literacy, to be most effectively taught to adults, should be focused upon skills that they need for functioning in the workplace and society.

More schools are using the Socratic method (such as our kid's elementary school) to foster communication and learning, and I think it's an amazing way for students to be engaged. Teachers must be aware, however, of different learning styles (visual vs. auditory, which might make this method harder for some students), and mental health issues (anxiety, trauma, and abuse) that may trigger some students when they are put on the spot.
