I have learned that allowing and encouraging students to add valuable evaluations about the course is essential to improving the course and find better ways to assess the students. For example, one great way to assess students is through the use of rubrics, as rubrics given prior to the assessment allow the student to know how they will be evaluated and hence can prepare accordingly to ensure the best results and learning outcomes. 

I have learned that there are various ways of assessments - these being objective and subjective assessments. Both are useful, however, subjective assessments helps us to better understand the students' own knowledge of the material and how they can put together the information they have understood. 

I have learned the difference between formative assessments and summative assessments. Formative assessments are set regularly throughout the course to assess where the student is at. Whereas summative assesments are given at the end of each project or course to assess the student's knowledge of the course by being given a grade. I have learned that it is important to identify the best assessment tools for the benefit of the students' learning and the appropiate delivery of the course content. One of the ways to identify whether an assesment tool is working is to collect the students' own feedback about the assesment tool being used to see whether the tool is supporting their learning and to decide whether to continue using that particular tool in the future. Therefore, I will make sure to collect feedback from my students to provide them with the best tools for their online learning experience. 

I have learned that there can be many challenges when teaching on an online platform, and that there may be different type of students who may bring with them different challenges. I will make sure to have the institution's code of conduct present with me so that I may be able to know how to best deal and resolve any issues. 

I have learned the importance of asynchronous type dialogue when teaching important course content. I will make sure to maintain a focused continuing discussion, and to keep a clear communication style with the students through the use of appropiate wording and participation from my part. I will also make sure to integrate into the discussions the different learning-types of students, so that each of them may benefit fully from the course. 

I have learned the importance of being present for my students and to build a good student-instructor relationship. Therefore, I will make sure to engage my students in discussions and conversations so that I may have the opportunity to learn more about them and where they are at in the course. I will also make sure to learn about my student's expectations with the course so that I may be able to guide them in a proper manner. 

I have learned that in an e-learning environment it is of extreme importance to be able to provide the students with as much support as they may need so that they may feel a sense of comfort and security while taking the course. As an instructor I will make sure to familiarise myself with the course guidelines so that I may be able to provide my students as much support as they may need in a timely manner.
