Students need to use the key concepts in active learning to recieve the knowledge they are looking for. These concepts are participation, reflecting, listening and writing. 

When/if technology fails have a backup plan. Using active learning the students can and will learn at their own pace. This may be difficult if a student is far behind the class. 

The biggest thing is the students need to take responsibility for their own learning. 

Use the stop, start and continue evaluation every few weeks or end of each course. Make the evalation anonymous so you can get better results. 

Best practice begins with purposeful planning and ends with accessing the students and strateg.

To manage time effectively you need to be organized, be disciplined, distinguish between work and personal time and be flexible. This works with students as well as instructor.

The instructor and students need to be organized and have technology support to successful in an online environment. 

All video and live meetings must be captioned. This is so everyone can access the material in different ways and be in accordance with section 504.

Just because something is posted in LMS does not ensure the accessiblity for all students. 

As a F2F instructor we know of these items, as an online instructor we also have to take everything into accommodatio for our students.
