As an instructor, I must keep in mind that some of the same motivators in my life are not different than any of my students. We all want a sense of security in whatever lessons we pursue, a sense of need and purpose and reward. This was an enlightening module and one to partake in. Thank you.

I realize that factors that motivate myself as an instructor do not fall too far from the tree as my students would desire. Students have their own individual reasons that motivate themselves in a classroom, hence extrinsic vs. intrinsic motivation. It's an instructors role to allow the students some autonomy in the classroom in order to empower the student and make the class subject more conducive to the students learning experience.

I can only control what I can control. What is beyond my control should not cause undo stress and aggravation. I need to monitor my stressors.

I/we are all in control of our stressors. I need to take the time to peersonally identify what they are and prioritize them in order to address them one by one in order to remedy my well being. Great module for understanding ones self.

I have found that talking with a fellow instructor or friend tends to diffuse many issues thereby alleviating the stress. I would agree, it works.

From a health perspective, stress can cause a person to over eat thereby becoming obese or the opposite would be to have an individual resort to smoking to aleviate his/her stress. Either way, a person can develop cancer or heart disease. Not a pretty picture.
I agree, if I may be of help to a fellow instructor, I would gladly provide to them my learning plans, sylabbi and lecture notes as some instructors have done for me. Lastly, prior to instructing from a new edition, I automatically request from the vendor any/all teaching materials that may come along with that particular book. Quick, concise and to the point. Isn't life great???
When I encounter many daily obstacles that are ever present, I must always be aware of the fact that I am ultimately in control of my time and energies. Many people want a piece of my time and I need to prudently pick and choose and prioritize my day(s). It is too easy to get caught up into others needs and wants.

Great module in learning about who is our customer (students), however; not in a business sense. Also the various advising techniques were engaging as well. I plan to integrate these learnings into my instructional processes. Well done.

Sometimes upon ones' own personal reflection, I ask how will this subject or topic relate to a specific profession, i.e. Physics to become a Radiographer. Upon being advised by a career services representative and/or the instructor, they can provide an informed reasoning as for its application to that specific profession or subject. As an instructor, it is my duty to fully inform my students as to the relevance of any subjects/topics in order to make the student more informed. This is just one of many techniques such as becoming a better listener and providing insightfull verbal/nonverbal cues.
