I have enjoyed the ED104 Class Management Strategies. These strategies bring to light many methods that I have either used or will incorporate in my daily teaching. Human nature touches all of us as to how we react to certain situations we happened to be in. It is true, one size does not fit all and I have to be aware of the different ways to present my material in order to make the students successful and provide a better quality of life for them and their family.

Every person wants to be included/accepted and part of the group. There appears to be a fine line relative to a students expectations of a teacher and teachers expectations of the student. In a learning environment, the task at hand of educating is first and foremost. Kindness and respect is very important, however; trying to be one's friend towards a student does not work. Objectivity is key.

I agree that it is best to integrate the silent student into various groups that allow their input to be heard.
Upon reading this passage, I have certainly run into many of these student traits and have found myself not only reflecting, but, attending other teachers classes to gain insights and their teaching techniques. I realized that one size does not fit all when you are teaching. Excellent examples and ones to incorporate.

I agree that by giving the student as much information about the class via a syllabus and providing them your clear and manageable expectations certainly voids any notion of ambiguous goals and objectives. So far I am enjoying this module :)

Great teaching activity tools as well as providing myself an awareness of how to handle my students during class. Great job at facilitating.

I agree with a number of my fellow instructors that the visual method has worked out well for my students. Incorporating power point slides keeps the student glued to the topic given illustrations in addition to the text. One observation is that the attention of the male student appears to be more noticeable vs. the ladies in the classroom using the visual technique.

They work just great, I have found that the students like the challenge and that some of the students perform newspaper and magazine crossword puzzles as well. They like to show you their greatness :)

I agree with a number of my fellow participants that the jeopardy game is one of many games/learning activities that can be incorporated into the classroom. I would also add that you can use this technique on an as needed basis because at times it gets old and new learning activities must be used to keep the students attention. When I first started teaching, I was told that I would need to entertain the students to keep them actively involved. I found that stand up comedy in front of many people provided entertainment as well and utilizes a number of… >>>
