This module was all about motivating students for continued engagement in the classroom environment.  I learned strategies on how to become a better teacher, one that is not only focused on curriculum, but also truly developing a relationship with their students.  I believe this is integral in developing trust with my students, to actually get to know them and learn about the experiences they have acquired to create curriculum that coincides with those topics.

This lesson was a great reminder of the importance of constantly engaging with your students.  It was really interesting to find out that the attention span of most students is between 10-15 minutes. I definitely have some ideas now from this module, that will help keep student engagement at a great level.

I really enjoyed this section of the lesson on how to increase engagement in the classroom.  I think overall my teaching techniques relies less on being authoritarian and more on being a learning facilitator.  I look forward to making room in the curriculum for my student's interests, critiques, and questions about classroom materials.

I enjoyed reading this section of the course.  I learned that some students have thought about joining culinary school for a while, while others sought out culinary school because of food tv shows. I hope that I can continue to set realistic expectations for my students regarding working in a kitchen and help them understand the daily tasks of any chef.
