I was chocked by this myth.  I am a program coordinator at my school and i have done your course on Learning Styles (which i don't remember the number) to now learn it's complitely wrong!  I will have to readress this "learning" with my teachers.

Taking this course reminded me of a very helpful course I took while doing my BA in Education/major in French.

The accredited course consisted of tutoring other university students struggling in (written) french classes.  We had a center called CAF where a supervisor and reference books were at our disposition on specific hours and where we held one-on-one tutoring with a few students assigned to us.  We had the responsibility of creating a lesson plan with a series of homework targeting their specific needs/difficulties.    The learning service was an invaluable experience which was beneficial to both me as a future… >>>

As we learned, most external motivators are: instructor's emphasis on the relevance of a lesson, helpful/supportive feedback, extra-curriculum activities, grades, prizes and handshakes, all provided by the instructor. Therefore, why doesn't "simply being a very good instructor" provide both?
