Taking care of how you feel with your energy is a huge component of how you directly impact your work, your colleagues, and the students you will speak to. Attitude is everything. Showing up every day is a choice you have to make for yourself and for your students to ensure they are making a decision based on information and the best impression of your school.

Creating relationships with students is very important because you are trying to build trust with them, so they feel confident and comfortable making a decision. Being resourceful in catering the information properly to your students is going to help them see the value properly and make the most informed decision for them. Knowing how each person attacks the problem at hand and want to reach the goal will make the process smoother. Being able to identify everyone's strength and weakness' and seeing which role they take on, can help the team identify where there may be a weakness overall and help to fill that as to reach the end goal easier.

Good collaboration with others does not always mean getting along 100% with everyone. Although you do need to be able to express when there is conflict, and differences in opinions and ideas. Each person and generation have difference preferences for communication. The Baby boomer generation leans towards face-to-face communication or phone calls (more personal than texts/email) while most other generations and people prefer calls, texts and emails, but value their time different for work life balance and communication outside of work.

I have learned that each generation has a different style and view of learning and how they see working. Their values changed based on the world events taking place and how it also shaped the policies and values of society as well. Learning to how each generation thinks will give me a better understanding on how to communicate with them and find a connection to them.
