As an instructor, if I am aware that a student has a learning disability, I would try to be accommodating, if time allowed. We still have a class to teach and there are other students that perform at different levels.

There are many forms of learning disabilities. It is very helpful if the student is already familiar with accommodations, this will keep the instructor from having to DISCOVER what is needed for the student to be successful

Having a learning disability does not mean you CAN"T learn, it just means it may take a little longer or different approaches.

As in the operation of any business, it is very important to keep precise and valid records. These can be financial statements, employee records, student records etcetera. Doing so will allow for a smooth operation and less headache should there be an audit of any kind. It's just a good procedure to follow.

There are many policies and procedures to follow when pertaining to refunds. There are timelines by which the school and/ or the student have to act. If these are not followed, it can mean a loss of ability to hold courses for the school and simply a loss of funds for the student.

It is very important to make sure that you include all requested supporting documents for new or existing programs seeking changes. The CSC has a timeline to which all material must be received in order for the application to be processed.

There are many steps to follow when submitting an application to CSC. I also learned some changes are categorized as revisions and do not need to be submitted with an application. It is also important that any fees due be submitted along with application. This will avoid any delays.

when creating assessments there are several avenues you can take. It is important to use material that covers the topics discussed in your classroom/ lab. Assessments are a great tool in learning the skill levels of the learners.

When evaluating, it is very important to try to be positive, assessments will vary, as does ones thought process. Always be mindful to determine the appropriate assessment.

Being cautious when responding to a student's answer to a question is very important. We don't want to make them feel stupid or like we're trying to embarrass them. Also give everyone an opportunity to respond.
