To construct a test that will measure the true progress and competence of your students you must what and how it is to be measured. There is a number of different assessment options from which you can choose. In choosing an assessment format make sure that you are satisfied that the format chosen is one that is fair, accurate, and allows students to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise. You should experiment with alternative assessments. You will find with experience that you will be able to construct an assessment format that will generate results beneficial to you and your students.

Creating assessments that will adequately show a measurable amount your student assimilated during your course is probably the most difficult aspect of being an instructor. Courses require an amount of required content to meet academic requirements. If the content is less than the requirements, then the student is not prepared and if there is an excessive amount content students will be overwhelmed. An assessment of a chapter or chapters should not be over an excessive amount of content, students that study for a comprehensive exam over ten chapters of information will be overwhelmed and anxious due to the amount content… >>>

As an instructor you will meet distinct types of students, each student; depending on their personality, will be outgoing or reserved based on past interactions either in their home environment or classroom experiences. You will have under the radar students these students are recognized by the hoodie pulled over their head or they sit in the least visible place in the classroom. Determining students learning styles in the first few classes gives you the information needed to select different learning approaches that you can use to deliver content. Student participation is necessary for the student's success. Students will need to removed from their comfort zones so they can learn how to learn in diverse ways, because many time learning content is delivered in the simplest way and may be weak on context, in other words the student may have to make something out of nothing or truly little. While we offten don't think about the use of copy righted materials in the classroom at the end of the day we are depriving the author of compenstion. For the author this may be his means of earning a living and i guess to put it in a brighter light how would we feel if someone took a portion of out paycheck.

In today's environment the instructor must be tech savy and if possible combine both technology based as well as parctical instruction.

The students that can reflect on what they have learned in a course can recall that information and utilize it in their daily routines.

As new instructors we have to remember to engauge our students in ways that will promote the retention and the willingness to repeat the process because it is associated with pleasure and a pleasent envoronment.

I haven't given much thought to the atnosphere in the classroom, but I can see a relavance to a persons mood.

In my courses it is inportant the the students feel impowered to take the initiative and try things on thier own without the fear of failure, I reenforce the fact failure is an opportuity to learn.
