A quick self-assessment

I have recently completed ED104. It has helped me undertstand the importance of detailing expectations for students to ensure an organized, well managed, classroom. It has also made me recognize what I have already been doing to better manage my classrooms. Professional interaction with students was also a key point for this unit. I am a stickler for professionalism but am able to show the students that I am fun and love what I do.

Honesty

I agree with compliance showing honor and integrity. So many people will just talk when they don't know what they should say instead of saying "I'm not sure".. You only have a few chances to establish trust and honesty with students in the beginning. If you are talking about something that you are unsure of the answer, perhaps you should let the student know that you " will find out for them". Be honest and truthful from the start and you will build the relationship.

I feel this course has helped me so I know exactly what I shoud say to a student or prospective student. They are in charge of their future and I don't want to say anything misleading. The course has made me ask questions that I normally may have not asked.

"Gifts" for Referrels

Are they appropriate? I don't think they are. Potentialstudents should not be attracted to a school by a friend that attends there and is promised a gift if they get them to enroll.
