I am always researching new information to present in my lectures. So yes, I would  say that I am always learning as part of my job as teaching. I think a good teacher must first demonstrate how to be a good learner. I try to model this to my students. I try to model how think critically, how to ask the questions, how to research, how to write what I find, how to communicate and dialogue about my findings, how to listen and question others about their findings, etc. It is what makes my job exciting really.

I really enjoyed the application of the use of intrinsic and extrinsic motivational techniques. I actually incorporate these when I teach my psychology classes, and we discuss Maslow's hierarchy of needs. We talk about how students can gain self empowerment through intrinsic motivation and finding means of bridging the gap with extrinsic motivation during the times when it is "hard" to keep going in order to reach their goals.

I teach sociology at the school where I am an instructor. One of the most valuable things I have learned in this class has been not only teaching the main concepts in the text but also the concepts discussed in this lesson such as managing emotions, listening to others, empathy, conflict resolution, being polite, and adapting to change. These have become very key to address and teach to the students as part of this course. I really enjoyed this course because it has given me a format that I can use to bring into the classroom to teach these concepts… >>>

I have found that meditation is tremendously helpful to me. For me it is almost a way of looking at everything in a calm, objective manner and gaining insights on how to move forward.
I find that one of the biggest problems for me is that I don't use my personal time off as would truly be beneficial for me. This is something that I am working on at the moment to use this time to go on a small vacation, just to be able to recreate and unwind.

I really like the idea of putting the answers to the side of the exam in order to make for fast, easy grading. I also like the idea of underlining and highlighting the important words in an essay exam. I have also found that answer sheets for the students to use during quizzes and exams to be extremely helpful in reducing the amount of paper that I look at when it's time to grade.

I actually decided to do this course because I am feeling the effects of being overwhelmed. I really like the use of lists, but I stopped doing them. I realize that I really need to put maintaining my list as one of scheduled priorities.
I work with a large number of baby boomer students who are often challenged by technology in the first place. They prefer the face to face contact. However, I have also found that when I introduce a seminar forum at the beginning of a course introducing the use of technology and work with them face to face, hands on with the technology we will be using in the class, they are oftentimes the best students.

I looked up a number of the simulation programs online. I am particularly interested in those that present students with the what-if models and require problem solving. I have never used these types of models before. I will definitely explore these options for the future.
