We should have a discussion on safety at least once a week. Safety is the most important thing to talk about on any job or any facility  

For me also when developing instruction, paying attention to varying learning styles helps to meet the needs of all students. Teaching in the lab environment can allow the instructor to identify quickly some of their students' learning styles. I'm more of a hands-on instructor but i have learned so much lately doing my online classes with students now I also see the importance of doing classes on line.

A competency-based curriculum is important to find a balance between learning the competency and the development of the whole person. A skilled worker needs to have the ability to problem solve, critically think, and demonstrate interpersonal skills.

The key is to find balance with extrinsic motivators to help students increase their intrinsic motivators. 

I learned security and autonomy are great tools in helping to motivate students and adult learners. Keeping the class fun and exciting keeps the students engaged and motivated to keep learning and pushing forward.

I learned technology can assist students in the learning process and support them when they are in the field. Taking Lecture notes and being prepare before class can really help with communication.
