I think it is great to consider the learning preferences of students. It is a good idea to have a variety of study materials available for students and they can pick which item would work best for them. This may alleviate some of the learning challenges they may have.

English is not the only language that should be acknowledged among a diverse group of students that may speak many languages. Also the "mother tongue" should not be hidden, it can in fact help us, as instructors, understand more about the student.

Comment on Roxanne Petruk's post: I agree, there must be a degree of respect and equality to make all learners feel valued

Culture and race help characterize who an individual is. We must be aware that cultures and race may differ, but we just find ways to accommodate to the learning needs of the individual,

As instructors we have to be aware of gender biases and consider each individual.

It is so easy to overlook the use of gender-based vocabulary.

Diversity makes individuals feel seen and they can be more productive knowing their differences are respected.

That is so true! All inclusive instruction should be our goal, no matter the culture or background of each student.

That is true. We should think of each individual student, and consider them as a person as we work with them each day.

In order to provide inclusive instruction diversity must be considered. Diversity plays a huge role in our everyday life. As instructors we have be aware of the biases we hold and confront them head on to provide quality instructor that considers each student. We should consider ourselves, our background, and the things that make us different. Keep in mind that we would want out culture and diverse background to be considered by those that we work with.
