I learned that all the advertising an institution uses (like ads, social media posts, emails, flyers, or events) must be clear, honest, and follow the rules that protect consumers. I also understood that, as an admissions advisor, it’s important to know the marketing plan well, because students form expectations based on what they see in those ads. To apply this, I will review the marketing materials, ask for updated versions when they change, and make sure I give accurate and consistent information. I learned that handling admissions documentation is a serious and regulated process. Every form must be completed, signed, and processed according to the institution’s internal policies and Florida state regulations. I also realized that there isn’t a single universal method, each school has its own procedures for reviewing, storing, or digitizing student files. It’s my responsibility to understand those procedures and follow them carefully.

In this module, I learned how important it is to fully understand the rules, documents, and procedures that regulate admissions work in Florida. I also learned that I must keep my materials organized and up to date, since regulations can change and it’s my responsibility to stay informed. In addition, I realized that to truly help prospective students, I need to know my institution well its programs, policies, and anything that might influence an applicant’s decision.
