I always use color markers to enhance the students learning experience. I separately my train of thought or subject with different colors.
As a new instructor, I have only been teaching for a year... I have had experiences with students that make comments and ask endless questions to try to make you look like you dont know anything. How would you deal this? I answer the questions to the best of my knowledge but its clear with the comments they are not pleased.

Students with English as the Learning Language is a challenge for both instructor and student.  It is difficult to understand the problem or question the student is asking.  As an instructor it is our responsibility to help the student succeed in class and apply the course content to their career.  As a new instructor, I find it extremely difficult when I dont understand the student due to a heavy accent or misunderstading.  One technique I have found helpful is to have the student write down what they are asking.  This gives me a clear direction especially if I am having… >>>

Students with Learning Disabilities are very intelligent but just have a different style of learning and comprehending. They struggle at first with instructors who do not understand their disabilities. However, once an instructor is aware of it, its the instructors responsibility to take the time and effort to help the student succeed in class. Extra explaination and "one on one" time helps the students.
Students with English as a learning language can be difficult as an instructor to evauluate the problem or question. Sometimes I have a difficult time communicating with ELL students with heavy accents or limited English vocabulary. The best way I have found to face this issue is to take your time to fully understand what they are trying to say. I write down their question or problem so they can see it in writing. Usually seeing it in writing helps us communicate better.
Group assignments are very effective. The students are learning how to communicate with each other and understand what contribution will be necessary in finishing a project. They also keep each other in check to be on top of their responsibilities.

Eye contact is very important. It shows the students you are in charge and in control of the class. Not only that, it creates a personal connection with the students. As a new instructor, I use to get nervous and avoid eye contact. However, I found that I had more control over my class if I make an effort to make eye contact with everyone in class.

As a new instructor,  I've learned, so far, that being "extra" prepared for class is crucial.  Having a back up plan in case you are losing the attention of your students has been helpful.  Once back up plan I have used is a class activity involving the vocabulary and small groups.  I break the class up into teams of 3-4 people.  give each team a pharse or topic to look up in the book.  Then the team must explain their topic using picture drawings only.  Its a fun activity that gets the students involved and has some nostalgia attached to… >>>

As a new instructor, Make up work has been a difficult policy to enforce. Meaning, there are so many different excuses and circumstances that occur. I have found myself in the beginning not enforcing the policy as stated in the syllabus was a problem for me because it was much more work for me to sort out the "make up" assignments and other assignments. Eventually, after 2 terms of teaching I found myself "laying down the law" and did not accept make up work unless it came with a doctor note of some sort. This was something I learned through experience.
When the students gets overwhelmed, I noticed its usually because there is too much material that is presented to them. Such as, reading assigned for homework, reports due the next day, and research that needs to be done for the class. When the students are overwhelmed they tend to give up quickly and lose interest. Setting small goals for them allows them to have a sense of accomplishment and they are more motivated.
