Activity

Closing the loop in a course revision is contingent on various types of evaluations from multiple stakeholders, including students, colleagues, and course designers.

I learned the importance of providing students with meaningful feedback. I learned that providing students with this type of feedback will allow students to place a higher value on the importance of the content I am taking my time to comment on. I have an increased appreciation for the value of peer assessment and self-assessment as tools to guide students' understanding. Finally, I view a course rubric as a learning tool in itself as well.

I learned the importance of building a dynamic syllabus for online courses.

I have learned the importance of consistency in formatting course content. The value of creating a variety of methods to deliver course content that appeals to different types of learners was reinforced for me. I have also learned that creating a course objective database to house various types of learning enhancement tools, like videos and graphs, will help keep me better organized.

I learned a variety of specific methods to implement when dealing with difficult behavioral traits.

I have learned to appreciate all the benefits of asynchronous learning even more. I have learned that providing timely feedback to online students is critical.

I learned techniques to establish an authority in the online classroom. I also learned how to develop more personal, yet professional relationships with my online students.

You must familiarize yourself with the specific details about the course content from both the instructor's and the students' perspectives.
