FERPA is such a broad topic, a lot of information  and regulations that needs to be strictly followed or implemented. Thus it is important for employees specially the newly hired to undergo training so they can follow the correct protocol in implementing it.

Having a clear understanding of the policies and procedures of FERPA is very important so as to be compliant in releasing student records. Protecting student's identity and educational records are the utmost priority of any institution.

FERPA is very important. Schools must strictly adhere to the guidelines set up by the Department of Education to protect the privacy of student educational records. I also learned to define what is an educational record to what is not, what triggers a record to be designated as an "Educational Record" and what is considered "Directory Information".

Transparency and accuracy of information always build trust with prospective clients/students. Thus, employees should be mindful of what they say all the time since they represent the school/institution.

I have learned the importance of protecting copyrighted materials, protecting student's personal information and proper dissemination of school information such as financial assistance to students etc.

I've learned the importance of compliance audits in making sure that the school accurately reconciles all feredral funds received and everything is accounted for. Regulations for dispersing and returning funds is very informative.

To continue receiving title 4 funding, an academic evaluation is done  after each pay period. Students must meet satisfactory progress to get financial aid.

Consistency and transparency is the main factor in upholding proper Admissions standard.

PJ is a case to case basis and would always need to be supported by documentation.

C-Codes need to be addressed immediately so processing of student's financial aid will not be delayed.
