Communication is key when it comes to talking with students. I've noticed that some students are not very good at communicating even when you have tried to reach out to them to see if they need help. With online teaching, it can be hard to get students to participate with discussions, but we are trying to encourage all students to participate.

I'm learning that there is many different types of technology based tools that help with student communication and engagement. Some of the tools are newer and still are in the working stages to see if it's something that can be used.

When transitioning from an F2F course to an online course, you will still have to make sure you engage the students. For those students that have to work during your synchronus lecture, it's best to record the lecture so that they can view at another time. This makes the course more accessible for those that need it. Even though it's what we consider a non-traditional technique, this has been the adjustment everyone has had to make in a short amount of time.

May different methods and adjustments makes for a great instructor and facilitator. There will always be room for improvement and feedback helps make for a great instructor.

Being able to communicate and teach students whether it's asynchronous or synchronus helps students. You always want to have an open communication and be able to get back to them quickly.

It's great to make use of the many tools that technology has to offer. This makes the students more engaged when they have tools that makes it fun to learn. The teaching videos should never be too long since most students will disengage from learning if it is.

Being evaluated multiple times helps with adjusting to many different ways students learn. There is always room for improvement and never one way of learning.

Rubrics is something that I still have to work on and get comfortable with. As for students giving me feedback during course evaluations. This helps me learn and change the way I teach to make me a better instructor.

Different types of learning tools can help with students to develop their scaffolding. They should always be engaged in some way and adjustments have to be made to each student.

When using online modules, I've learned that being consistent with the information provided seems to help students. Changing the modules to make it different each time can confuse and discourage students.
