Online course content should be revised on an add needed basis. Professional development helps an online instructor learn new and better ways of delivering online content.

Online students need more support and feedback. It does take more time in teaching online since the virtual classroom needs to be made for the students to have easier understanding and comprehension of the course.

Time management is crucial and being able to separate work from life makes for a better instructor. If you don't have a list of priorities that need to get done and organized, you can't expect that from your students.

Workload management skills help with making sure that tasks are done in an effective manner. It's best to not get distracted with too many things going on at the same time.

To ensure that the student has a successful learning environment, you have to know the 7 principles.

I'm learning about all the different tools that are available to help with the online teaching process. Even some of the apps are helping with teaching outside of the classroom in a real time setting.

I know that how you communicate with students can make a diifference in how they perceive you. I've learned that some students will take to a fence if you don't have great communication skills. It's always best to read over everything that is written for grammatical error and tone of voice in writing. I've learned from my own mistakes with this.

To be successful with online instructor, you will have to adjust to the different types of student learners. You will have students that need special accommodations, but sometimes even with the special accommodations, they will not meet you half way which can be frustrating.

Online learning will always be a work in progress. The learning components should be clear and concise for students to be able to navigate. You should always have an open communication with all students since some will need guidance and help more than others. Most of them will be willing to help their other fellow students so that thet all can succeed.

I've learned that you will have all different types of students with different communication levels and skills. It's always better to be understanding of the issues that they may have and be open to how they will learn. For those students that have issues with self-motivation, the online component is not for them. I've noticed that some students who are F2F will struggle with this and fall off the radar.
