Activity

There will be many challenges in conducting an online course, accompanied by major causes of conflict.  I will definitely need to search for our institution code of conduct for online participation and use that for a foundation on which to build.  I will need to acquire skills that will allow for resolvement of conflict in a fair, consistent, effective manner that will allow equity for each student.  Although I have attempted to master these skills in the class room, I feel high anxiety regarding my ability to carry my knowledge into the electronic classroom.  I will give it my best… >>>

This module has enlightened as to the various communication skills I will need when using synchronous vs. asynchronous technique when dialoguing with students.  My online presence should be one of support, encouraging cofidence, motivation, and participation.  Clarity in the wording I choose to use should be reflective of course objectives and should be model strategies that promote participation from the students.  Although I have never been a participant in a chat I will focus on subject matter that enables all chat participants to feel comfortable, yet challenged in providing responses regarding the subject matter.  Therefore, I will prepare ahead of… >>>

The opportunity to learn more regarding the student and sharing of myself as to experience, academic credentials, and educational experience will allow for an interactive relationship whereby I can influence or facilitate the student to succeed in acquiring the information needed to succeed in their online course.  Hopefully the sharing of information will lead to a trust relationship enfluencing the expectation of quality work to be rendered from both the educator (myself) and the student.

 

 

I have acquired baseline knowledge to help me present/facilitate online education.  Many considerations regarding the ability to manipulate the course regarding issues such as required quiz permissions for availablitity, acessibility to course components related to student success, and the management of inappropriate forum discussion on the cms platform have been triggered in my mind so I may address these issues in structuring my online course.
