Discussion Comment

Great, I also use Kahoot with all classes and the students love it.

Teaching Online Learners is a challenging task when you have 9th graders that will be using Canvas LMS for the first time. I will have to center instruction on How to use Canvas during my orientation.

Feedback is key to the success of a student.

In order to engage online learners, you will have to take what you do in the traditional classroom, and modify it for online instruction. Teaching is what we do, whenever, however and  wherever we are.

Communication and active learning are key elements to the success of the student in an online class.

Students should know what is expected of them and those expectations should be clearly projected to them throught the LMS.

Online citizenship is crucial to having a great online class and class environment.

Make sure your goals and objectives of the class are projected to the students and parents.

Taking the holistic approach will help you assess learners needs and gain the appropriate feedback.
