When i have a new group of students, who are just getting to their electives, i like to refresh their knowledge of the class rule and procedures. i find this helps with some confusion that some students have.

Multi tasking can at times be less productive if you are constantly making errors you have to correct.

I believe that having positive attitude is the key to instructing students. What is your favorite soft skill?

I regularly love to incorporate videos in my class power points especially when they relate to the topic we are currently discussing. The students seem to absorb the material more when they can visually see the skills at hand being taught. The demonstration is phenomenal, especially for those students who have not quite grasped the skills that they need to acquire in a hospital setting

I have seen many times in the classroom that when the older a student is, the more likely it is that they doubt their abilities at first. However, it is also this student (who has usually been out of the academic environment the longest) that becomes the most independant and passion filled learners. It is a pleasure to work with these "non-traditional" students because of their ownership of their education and progress

I have had a student who was hard of hearing, and had interpreters in class helping him. I treated him like every other student i had in class and didnt cut any corners with him. When he didnt understand me i had help but for the most part as long as i took it slow when i explained stuff to him on a one on one situation. After my class was over he thanked me for treating him the same as everyone else but helping him when needed

I agree with this, disabled students do not like to be singled out, They sometimes need an accomodation just to make it an even playing field. I have found that in most cases these students try a little harder because they have the disability. The result is that in a lot of cases they become some of the better students we have.

Changing the delivery method and actively engaging each student on some level will every day more interesting for both the student and the teacher.

The more prepared the student on expectations of success the better.

one of the things that must be remembered is not every one gets it the first time and sometimes not the third time be patient show different avenues of learning to get the same results In other words show different ways to get the same results Use different teachins styles take in new ideas talk with the students to see how they learn best don't be afraid to make mistakes but learn from them.
